Tea producer Rossell India today said it will acquire a tea estate, with an annual production capacity of 730,000 kg black tea, from Dhunseri Petrochem and Tea for Rs 28.29 crore.
In a BSE filing, Rossell said it has entered into an agreement with Dhunseri Petrochem and Tea for acquisition of their Namsang Tea Estate in Dibrugarh district of Assam, 'as a going concern', for an agreed consideration of Rs 28.29 crore.
The total number of tea estates owned by the company in Assam stands at six after the latest acquisition. The company's combined production now stands at 5.1 million kg of black tea annually, it said.
Rossell Tea exports tea to EU countries and the Middle East.
The company has restructured itself into three divisions tea, aviation and defence (Technology and Engineering) and Product Support Services (Aerospace).
