Reliance Power, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, a power utility, posted a net profit of Rs 186.63 crore in the fourth quarter of financial year ending March 31, 2011, which is double the net profit of Rs 92.41 crore in the corresponding period the previous year.
Total income was Rs 598.18 crore in the quarter ended March 2011, up more than sevenfold from Rs 82.56 crore a year ago.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the company saw a 11% increase in its net profit at Rs 760.44 crore as against Rs 683.89 crore in the previous year.
Total income jumped 124% to Rs 1,892.48 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011, from Rs 843.38 crore in the previous year.
The company’s stock was up 6.79% at Rs 118 on the Bombay Stock Exchange at 12:40 pm.
