Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has completed the first quarter of 2010-11 registering best ever production for any period of April-June since its inception in major production centres like Hot Metal, Sinter and Crude Steel while maintaining its growth momentum.
During April-June 2010, RSP produced 0.836 MT of Sinter, 0.556 MT of Hot Metal, 0.515 MT of Crude Steel and 0.471 million tonnes of saleable steel. These figures represent impressive capacity utilisation of 109 per cent, 112 per cent and 113 per cent respectively, officials said.
These production centers also recorded growth to the extent of 5 per cent, 4 per cent, 3 per cent and 2 per cent respectively as compared to April-June 2009, RSP sources said here today.
In the area of Sinter, Hot Metal and Crude Steel, the steel plant achieved all time best levels in comparison to any April-June since inception.
During April-June 2010 growth over the corresponding period of last year in the finished products of the steel plant namely, Plate Mill Plates, Hot Rolled Coils (for sale), Hot Rolled Plates, Electric Resistance Weld (ERW), Pipe and Spiral Weld (SW) pipes.
Growth was also recorded during the period over the corresponding period of last year in dispatch of saleable steel.
