Rupa to expand in UP

After making its products a household name in India, Rupa & Co. Ltd., a leading hosiery and undergarments manufacturer of the country, is now seeking to expand its network in Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to media persons in Agra recently, R N Tripathi, national sales manager, Rupa & Co, said the company's stress had always been on maintaining the quality of its products and it was the reliability of the "Rupa" brand that had raised the company's turnover to over Rs 350 crore.

He said the company's target for this financial year was to raise this turnover to Rs 400 crore, which was only possible through increasing the number of retail outlets, especially in Uttar Pradesh, which was a key focus area for the company.

On this occasion, Tripathi announced the appointment of distributors in various divisional headquarters of Uttar Pradesh to ensure that the supply of company products remained continuous.

Besides, he said the company was also offering franchises of its two other ventures--Rupa Global Pvt Ltd & Rupa Dyeing & Printing Pvt. Ltd--to increase its market share in the north.
