Steel Authority of India (SAIL) today reported a 28% increase in net profit in the second quarter ended September 2006 at Rs 1,443 crore. The total revenue of the company went up by 17% at Rs 9,586 crore."SAIL has maintained sustained growth and profitability. While implementing our growth plans for future, there will be special thrust on utilizing current potential of our human resources and other assets to the fullest extent," S K Roongta, chairman of SAIL said.
