Chennai-based information management company Saksoft has acquired a US-based business intelligence and information management company, Electronic Data Professionals, through its subsidiary for an undisclosed amount.
The company in a statement on Tuesday said EDP would operate as a separate entity in the US. It would be a direct subsidiary of Saksoft Inc, United States. The company has been operational for seven years and has grown consistently well for the last few years.
The statement quoted Aditya Krishna, CEO, Saksoft said: "We have been impressed with the strength of EDP in the information management area and we believe for our US geography's growth, this acquisition is a good fit."
While declining to comment on acquistion cost, Sampath Rengachari, executive vice president, Saksoft said: "It is a 50 people company with a revenue of around $6.5 million. The company will continue to operate as a seperate entity for now."
"Saksoft is investing in sales, marketing and delivery capabilities for the US market and EDP will be an additional channel for client acquisition and account management," he added.
