Sales India plans 4 stores in Ahmedabad

Sales India, an Ahmedabad appliance and electronics retail chain, plans to expand its network within Ahmedabad and beyond.
 
Talking to Business Standard, John Geevargese, chairman of Sales India, said, "By the end of this year, we will add four more stores in Ahmedabad." The company has identified locations and acquired a property. While talks are in progress for acquiring properties at three other locations.
 
The company will come up with a store each at four areas "" Civil Hospital, Ghatlodia, Chandlodia and Bopal. The minimum size of each store will be 5,000 sq feet. The company will invest approximately Rs 16-20 crore for its four stores. It has five stores in Ahmedabad and added its sixth store on Sunday.
 
"After the completion of the expansion in Ahmedabad by the end of this year, we plan to enter Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot," adds Geevargese.
 
Initially, the company will start with one store each in the three cities it plans to enter. However, he declined to give the details of the company's strategy to expand its wings throughout the state of Gujarat.
 
"The plans are at initial stages and we will reveal as we move forward with our expansion plans," Geevargese said.
 
It also plans to add new products to its existing range of electronic appliance products.
 
The company aims to achieve a sales turnover of Rs 200 crore by the year 2010.
