Unperturbed by the perception of weakening consumer sentiments that threatened to impact growth figures for most of the consumer durable companies this festival season, Korean consumer electronic player Samsung seems positive about the growth.
Samsung this festival season is eyeing 30 per cent growth compared to corresponding period festival period last year. Raj Kumar Rishi, vice president and business head, Samsung Electronics, maintained the company is targeting Rs 2,500 crore business this festival season.
Last year, Samsung’s turnover stood at Rs 16000 crore and this year they predict 25 per cent growth.
In the turnover. Samsung officials maintained results for the first six months show 20% growth, which suggest they are well on the track of clocking in the turnover targeted for the year 2011.
Samsung also is eyeing 35% market share in the flat panel TV this year and aims to create a LED market in India.
LED market is growing at faster pace than LCD .While last year LED occupied 10% of the flat panel TV market, this year the share has increased to 25%, which reflects preference if people towards LED.
