With the launch of 'silver nano technology' in an entire range of home appliances, Samsung India Electronics is expecting to grow by 40% in 2005."Our turnover for 2004 stood at Rs 4,900 crore, which is expected to reach Rs 6,500 crore at the end of current year. We expect a growth of 40% in the home appliance category," said Ravinder Zutshi, director, sales for Samsung India.Out of Es 4,900 crore of sales turnover last year, the home applainces contributed about Rs 1,400 crore. Traditionally, North and Western India are the stronghold of Samsung contributing 34% and 33% respectievly."We will continue to keep "freshness" and "heath" as our marketing plank," said Zutshi. The company will launch 30 variants of refrigerators with silver nano technology. Washing machines will have four new models in the 'front loading' category while five new models will be launched in the 'top loading' category.In the air conditioner category, 16 new range of ACs will be launched with this technology."From now on, we will be selling ours appliances range with silver nano technology which was selectievly test marketed last year," Zutshi said.The silver nano technology has been developed by Samsung Electronics with the investment of $10 million in research & development.On the pricing of appliances with silver nano technology, Zutshi said that they will be "very affordable".
