Korean consumer electronics major Samsung is bullish on the rural market in the current festive season.
“We have received good response to our marketing initiatives in the rural hinterland, especially towards flat panel TV and hope to continue the momentum in the festival season,” Samsung India Electronics vice president Raj Kumar Rishi said here.
The company is equally excited about the prospects in the urban centres and targets to increase its market share in the flat panel TV to 35 per cent in the season. Samsung has launched a series of new product ranges in the various electronics categories, with an eye on the festival season, which is a peak shopping time and accounting for almost 30 per cent of annual sales.
“We are offering assured gifts, besides lucky coupons with the purchase of our products,” he informed adding gifts worth Rs 150 crore would be given away during the promotion period till October 31.
