Global leader in flash storage solutions SanDisk is expanding its reach beyond the metro cities to the emerging markets in India.
Under its geo-expansion programme, the company is focusing on the top 27 cities in the country. These include Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kochi etc, SanDisk national manager (strategic accounts) Avijit Ganguly said here.
The company would organise road-shows and incentive programmes for greater retail visibility in these markets.
SanDisk currently commands a market share of 35% in the storage media segment, spanning the verticals of digital camera, pen drives and mobile phones.
"Our focus is to capitalise on the opportunities in emerging markets across India and we are executing strategies to boost growth, explore new channels, and provide high-quality products to consumers," he underlined.
Ganguly said Lucknow and other major cities in UP were important markets for SanDisk with high disposable income and growing awareness for smart devices amongst the consumers.

The other major UP cities on its radar are Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Agra etc.
He said the explosion of digital content in Lucknow region was driving the need for more storage and flash memory was an ideal technology for mobile, computing and consumer electronics devices.
The company has recently launched SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, which is designed for android smartphone and tablet users, who need an easy way to move content such as photos and videos from their mobile devices.
SanDisk has a portfolio of retail products allowing consumers to capture, share and preserve digital content.
It has an R&D centre in Bangalore, which is manned by about 300 engineers, he informed.
