Sanyo Electric Company, which is re-launching colour televisions in India through a joint venture with BPL, is also interested in introducing other commercial and industrial equipment in India.Toshimasa Iue, president of Sanyo, said: "We are once again going to get aggressive in India, and hope to make it a pillar of our future growth."Ajit Nambiar, chairman and managing director of BPL and chairman and CEO of Sanyo BPL, said that with the tremendous growth in industries like retail and hotels, the company's products too had a terrific growth potential.Sanyo has had a technical collaboration agreement with BPL since 1983, but it was only in December 2005 that the companies formed a 50-50 joint venture to market Sanyo products in India.At present there are two companies, Sanyo BPL and Sanyo India, which have been formed. While the colour televisions will be sold under the BPL brand, other consumer products like machines and air conditioners are being sold under the Sanyo brand.The ad and marketing campaign for the same will be out next month, Nambiar said.
