RPG group firm Saregama India is focusing on technology for operational efficency to improve bottomline, a top company official said today.Saregama is implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) application software by SAP at a cost of Rs 4 crore. It would be implemented by Siemens and was expected to be completed within the current fiscal."The ERP is been implemented, which will help to improve our operation as our business is complex. We need to manage thousands of artists and lakhs of tracks. It will also help to manage IPR issues better," Subroto Chattopadhyay, MD of Saregama, said."Moreover, we are also focusing on the wireless format of music delivery. We are hosting an online marketplace for digital music and films," he said.The portal will be for online sale of music tracks by December and the company has digitized three lakh tracks for hosted.Saregama vice-chairman S Goenka said that the company has finalised decision to produce three films at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.Saregama's Indo-US English film 'Karma Confessions and Holi will be released in the next financial year, keeping in mind the taste of the international market.The company posted a total income of Rs 118.87 crore and net profit of Rs 8.87 crore for the year ended March 2006.
