Sarovar to build hotel in Baddi

Sarovar Hotels is coming up with a limited service brand hotel in Baddi under the name "Hometel" with an investment of about Rs 20 crore (which excludes land cost).

Also, the company has plans to build the Park Inn Hotel in Ludhiana and Gurgaon, Park Plaza at Delhi and Sarovar Portico in Pushkar (Rajasthan). It also plans to expand the number of rooms in its hotel in Lucknow.

The company is likely to spend Rs 110 crore in this financial year, in the northern region for building new hotels, and on renovation and expansion.

Company Executive Director Ajay K Bakaya said, "We are coming up with the Hometel in Baddi, which is likely to attract an investment of Rs 20 crore (excluding land cost) and would be operational by early 2008."

The Hometel is the newly launched, limited service brand which modern facilities and services.

Commenting upon location, he added, "Major pharmaceutical companies and other multinationals have set up manufacturing bases in Baddi. However there is a huge paucity for quality accommodation, which the Hometel seeks to fill by offering a superior product."
