Sasken Communication Technologies posted a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 11.87 crore for the third quarter of the fiscal 2006-07, an increase of about 71% compared to a profit before exceptional item of Rs 6.95 crore in Q3 of fiscal 2005-06 when the company had to spend about Rs 6.8 crore to settle a litigation, bringing down its PAT to Rs 18 lakh.The consolidated revenue of the company for the quarter went up 73% to Rs 131.02 crore."The Sasken Group has had a strong year so far. With this perspective, we have inducted some senior people into our management team," Rajiv Mody, chairman & CEO, Sasken, said.In sequential terms, the profit after tax of the company for the third quarter was flat compared to Rs 11.88 crore in the previous quarter. The consolidated revenue grew 11% sequentially. During the quarter, the company added 139 people, taking the total employee strength to 3,512 as on December 31, 2006. The company also added 11 new customers during the quarter, which took the total number of active clients to 76.The company improved the revenue share from Europe to 49% as compared to 39% in the second quarter of fiscal 2006-07. The share of North America to the consolidated revenue dropped to 25% in Q3 from 32% in Q2.
