Satyam bags three-year Nestle deal

Satyam Computer Services Ltd today announced that it had won a three-year contract from the $50 billion Swiss foods major Nestle.
 
The company did not give details on the value of the contract.cn Satyam will provide SAP application support for Nestle's GLOBE Business Excellence Programme.
 
As part of the contract Satyam will establish a dedicated centre of excellence (CoE) for Nestle at Banagalore.
 
The CoE which has already started functioning will be ramped up to 250 people in the next two months, up from the current strength of 75 people. Satyam will also be setting up a business continuity centre for Nestle at Hyderabad as part of this contract.
 
Subu D Subramanian, director and senior vice president, Satyam, said, "Cost reduction and sharing global best practices through standardisation and off shoring is now becoming mainstream in the packaged application space. Nestle is an extremely valued customer for us. Our SAP capability, experience in setting up CoEs for SAP applications for several Fortune 100 companies, ...helped us win this deal."
