The new board Satyam Computer is meeting in Hyderabad today and tomorrow to select the new CEO and CFO for the disgraced IT firm, Union Minister of State for Industry Ashwini Kumar said here on Thursday.

The minister said the new board has all the freedom and is not under any pressure from the government to take appropriate management decision.

"The government is committed to ensure that those responsible for fraud in Satyam are brought justice. Very soon, the new board will find a concrete proposal to salvage the company," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of machine tool exhibition, IMTEX - 2009.

The immediate goal before the board is to appoint the right person with total credibility for the post of CEO and CFO, he added.

On Wednesday, Satyam's board member Deepak Parekh had said that the board has received close to 40 proposals for the post of CEO. “We have received close to 40 proposals for the post of CEO but it is difficult to find the kind of person that we want for the job. We have been approached by expatriates as well as people who want to come back to India,” Parekh said in a function in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the central government is planning to come out with the third stimulus package, which will be sector specific with an aim to promote exports. There are number of sectors like textile, leather, gems and jewellery and consumer goods which will be given specific incentives and measures to boost demand and increase exports, minister said.
