The counsel for Satyam Computer Services founder B Ramalinga Raju and his brother Rama Raju said he will raise objections on the way the interrogation of the duo is being done by the Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi) at the Chenchalguda central prison here.
"I will raise objections after getting a copy of the Supreme Court order," the defence counsel S Bharath Kumar said opposing the manner in which the interrogation is being carried out. He added that Raju brothers have no legal assistance as they are in a prison. Also, they do not have any records to project their perspective of the issue and the confined jail atmosphere is not conducive to make any voluntary statements.
"We will question the validity of statements extracted in a confinement,'' he said exuding confidence that the apex court might issue orders to correct the lacunae if it was convinced of the merits in its argument.
He said he made an unsuccessful attempt to meet Sebi southern region general manager Sunil Kumar at the central prison.
Meanwhile, a five-member Sebi team arrived at the central prison here today to quiz Raju brothers. The Sebi officials, who went into the prison around 9.45 am, did not prefer to speak to the media.
The Supreme Court in its order yesterday had directed the Superintendent of the Chanchalguda prison to allow Sebi's investigating officer Sunil Kumar to question the Raju brothers for three days till February 6 in connection with the Rs 7,800-crore accounting fraud in Satyam Computer.
The Raju brothers are in judicial custody till February 7. They were first arrested on January 9. Sebi sought permission from the local court to quiz Raju brothers following the disclosures of Ramalinga Raju. The local court rejected the plea on grounds of maintainability and jurisdiction. It later moved while the AP High Court, which posted the matter to February 9.

The defence counsel will also move a fresh application with the sixth additional metropolitan magistrate today seeking bail for Raju brothers and former chief financial officer Srinivas Vadlamani.
On the other hand, the police have taken Price Waterhouse partners and auditors S Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas into two-day custody for custodial interrogation. Their police custody will end at 4 in the evening tomorrow.
