SBT Q4 net up 10% at Rs 328 cr

State Bank of Travancore (SBT) posted 10% increase in its net profit at Rs 238.3 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 217 crore in the same quarter in the previous fiscal, SBT said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income of the bank rose to Rs 1,620.4 crore in the January-March quarter as compared to Rs 1,277 crore in the same period previous fiscal, it said.

The bank earned an interest of Rs 1,425.6 crore for the fourth quarter ended March, 2011.

The bank has declared a final dividend of Rs 10 on face value of Rs 10 for 2010-11, in addition to interim dividend of Rs 8 per share paid in October, 2010, it added.

For the financial year ended March, 2010, SBT posted a net profit of Rs 727.7 crore, compared to Rs 684.2 crore in the previous fiscal, an increase of 6%, it added.

Total income of the bank rose to Rs 5,810 crore for the year ended March, 2010, compared to Rs 4,906 crore during the previous fiscal, it said.

The bank earned an interest of Rs 4,378.11 crore for the year ended March, 2010, compared to Rs 4,125.22 crore in FY10, it added.
