Sebi reduces filing fees by 50-80%

 * Ad valorem fee for filing offer document by a mutual fund reduced from 0.03% to 0.005% subject to a maximum of Rs 50 lakh. Annual registration fee from custodians reduced from 0.001% to 0.0005%.

* Ad valorem fee for filing offer document for public issue reduced from 0.03% to 0.005% subject to a maximum Rs 3 crore.

*Ad valorem fee on offer document for rights issue reduced from 0.05% to 0.005% subject to maximum Rs 5 lakh

* Ad valorem fee for offer document for buy back of securities and draft letter of offer filed under Sebi Substantial Acquisition and Takeover Regulations reduced from 0.5% to 0.125% subject to maximum Rs 3 crore.

* Registration fee in case of venture capital fund has been reduced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

The decision was taken at the first board meeting of the market regulator after C B Bhave took over as chairman last month.

The board also asked the committee, which is examining how to reduce primary market issuance process, to submit its report soon.

The market regulator also constituted a three-member committee to consider Bhave
