SFIO to recruit 10 company prosecutors

The probe agency, under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, is currently investigating many high profile cases

The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) has sought applications from advocates to fill up 10 posts of company prosecutors.
 
The probe agency, under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, is currently investigating many high profile cases, including the Saradha chit funds scam.
 
A company prosecutor would be required to appear in District and Subordinate Courts to give opinion regarding the advisability of filing an appeal in cases decided against the SFIO.

Besides, these prosecutors should extend all assistance to Law Officers, Advocate General of the state government, Special or Senior Counsel, who may be engaged in a particular case before the High Court, Supreme Court or Tribunals, among others.
 
Applications have been invited for two categories -- Company Prosecutor I and II. For the first class, advocate should have at least seven years experience in the field of corporate law while for the second segment, those having a minimum of three years experience are eligible.
 
For both categories, experience in the field of criminal law is desirable.
 
According to the Ministry, there are six posts of Company Prosecutor-I, out of which five are at SFIO headquarters in New Delhi. The remaining one would be at the Mumbai regional office.
 
For Company Prosecutor-II, there are four posts -- two each at New Delhi and Mumbai.
 
The first and second category company prosecutors would be given a consolidated monthly pay packet of Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000, respectively.
