SGS aims at Surat's diamond industry with security solution

Smart Guard Systems (SGS), a subsidiary of eInfochips Ltd, today launched an innovative smart surveillance solution designed for IP surveillance market, in Surat. The solution enables the users to go for complete IP based surveillance solutions and also migration from existing analogue systems to IP surveillance in a seamless manner, thus transforming passive monitoring into proactive surveillance.

The company aims to target Surat’s gems & jewllery, textiles sectors and the small & medium industries (SMEs). “The shift from analog to IP surveillance is the ideal solution for the gems & jewellery industry, both for security and business purposes. The hybrid system is very effective and most sought after by Diamond Industry, Textile Industry and SMEs. By 2013, the IP surveillance is expected to overtake analog systems in India. It can also help the industry to buyers based overseas,” Gurudas Parwani, President — SGS said.

Talking about the surveillance market, Parwani said, “The Indian surveillance market is nascent and estimated at about '800 cores. The IP surveillance market is currently at 10 per cent of the total market but growing at a CAGR of 50 per cent. It is estimated to reach over '400 crore in the next five years. We expect a year on year growth of 50 per cent and are aiming at a 10-15 per cent market share in the initial years.”

eInfochips Ltd is into the field of IP driven Design services. The company deals with complete end-to-end security and surveillance systems, which are of utmost use to many in the market along with various other innovative devices that have been newly designed and launched. It’s subsidiary SGS has its own manufacturing and technology development centre in Ahmedabad.
