Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd, makers of stainless steel submersible pumps, is planning to enhance its presence in the international markets.

The company has recently executed overseas orders worth Rs 4 crore and is looking forward to getting huge work orders from South Africa and Australia, among others.

Shakti Pumps is also planning to double its manufacturing capacity from 1,500 pumps per month to over 3,000 pumps per month by setting up a new unit at Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh, at an investment of Rs 15 crore.

"The Rs 4-crore export order was a historic one for the company. The company has achieved this quantum jump in its sales due to its virtual domination in the segment and availability of the complete range of pumps and motors," Dinesh Patidar, managing director, Shakti Pumps told Business Standard.

The expansion plans will be funded through internal accruals and loans from banks and financial institutions. The company has reported a turnover of Rs 47 crore in the last financial year.
