Buoyed by the boom in the textile industry and the increasing trend of importing Chinese textile machinery by Indian mills, Shanghai Crosrol Pacific Machinery Ltd, a Chinese textile machinery manufacturing firm, is planning to set up its facility in Coimbatore by July 2006. |
Addressing a press conference, Zhaoyang Wang, managing director of the company, said the facility, which would deal with sales, spare parts and servicing, would come up initially with eight Cards and one Blow room line. However, he declined to disclose the required investment for the project. |

Commenting on the company's presence in Indian market, Wang said that Crosrol already had an Essential Spare Parts Stock (ESPS) office in New Delhi. |
"Around 70 companies in the country are making use of Crosrol machines. The company plans to sell around 200 Cards this year. The company sold 40 Cards and four Blow room lines in India last year," Wang added. |
"This year, we have received orders for 81 Cards and eight Blow room lines which are under final stages of installation. Further, 60 Cards and six Blow room lines are due for delivery soon," he said. |
Stating that the pricing and quality of Crosrol machines are on par with the indigenous manufacturers, he added that delivery schedule is the company's major strength. The maximum delivery period for any machinery is three to four months from the date of booking, said Wang. |
Crosrol, with a capacity of 650 Cards a year, exports around 65-75 per cent of its production to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. |
