“No state government in the country has come up with such a unique concept of providing all IT infrastructure at one place,” Nadar said here this evening.
HCL arm Vamasundari Investments has been selected under the public private partnership (PPP) mode by the state to develop Lucknow IT City.

The company would invest Rs 1,500 crore over the next 10 years to develop infrastructure for IT, IT Enabled Services (ITeS), IT training and other non-core facilities.
Earlier, 100 acres land had been transferred to the state IT department at Chak Gajaria on Lucknow-Sultanpur highway in Lucknow district.
The company would form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to build development and skill development centres. The skill development centre would enhance the employability of youth in IT sector.
IT City is estimated to generate 25,000 fresh jobs in IT and allied sectors in the next 10 years.
The state would also subsidise 50% of the training fee of IT trainees in IT City subject to the ceiling of Rs 5,000 for students belonging to UP.
Yadav said IT City would enable Lucknow to count amongst the top IT destinations in India. “Our aim is to seek investment in areas other than the National Capital Region (NCR). IT is a big sector with lot of job potential for the youth,” he underlined.
Replying to a question over law and order situation in UP, Nadar said in the last 37 years of HCL business in UP, the company had not faced any law and order scare here.
“Sometimes things get exaggerated…UP is such a big state, some incidents are bound to happen,” he further noted.
