Shoppers Stop has reported a gross retail turnover of Rs 508.80 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. This is nearly 24 per cent higher than the turnover of Rs 412.40 crore registered in the corresponding period last year.
According to a stock exchange announcement, the net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 17.40 crore, against 12.10 crore compared to the second quarter of the previous fiscal.
The board of directors of the company has proposed to split the equity share of Rs 10 each into two equity shares of the face value of Rs 5 each, subject to shareholders approval.
In the quarter ended September 30, 2010, the company added three new Shoppers Stop stores, one each in Bhopal, Bengaluru and New Delhi. The company also opened a Crossword store at Bhopal, taking their total count to 63.
