Shringar Cinemas plan Rs 7.5 cr multiplex in Ahmedabad

Close on the heels of its 'Fame Surat' multiplex in Surat, Shringar Cinemas has lined up a new multiplex project in Ahmedabad.
 
The proposed project is a six screen multiplex that would occupy around 3.5 lakh square feet of ground area.
 
The company has already signed an agreement with a local builder to construct the multiplex by the end of the year.
 
The multiplex is a part of the 'R3 Mall' which is currently under construction in a property close to the Drive-In theatre.
 
Estimating each seat to cost around Rs 60,000, the multiplex has a capacity of 1,200 seats and will require an initial investment of atleast Rs 7.5 crore, Shringar Cinemas MD Shravan Shroff told Business Standard.
 
Enabled with state-of-the-art audio equipment and other high end facilities, the multiplex has been designed with the viewer comfort in mind, he added.
 
The company expects a turnover of Rs 15 to 16 crore annually through the latest project in its kitty of multiplexes which do not acquire property ownership but function on a stand alone basis.
 
Shringar films had earlier announced its plans to foray into all major cities across the country and establishing around 45 multiplexes in the process.
 
Currently, the company plans to expand its operations in Gujarat with concrete plans in the pipeline for the bigger cities.
 
Under its 'Fame Surat' project, six screen multiplex of Shringar is located on Bhatar Road, off Ghoddod Road , close to the commercial part of the Ring Road area in Surat.
 
The multiplex is a part of Rs 1.2 lakh square feet development and is all set to be inaugurated on June 23.
 
The multiplex is likely to contribute an estimated of Rs 15 crore to the company's revenue.
 
The company is also planning to distribute the film"" Superman as part of its foreign film distribution unit.
