Shristhi finalises Rs 350cr Asansol township

Bengal Shristi Infrastructure Development has finalised the design for the 90-acre Rs 350-crore township project at Kanyapur, Asansol, being developed in association with the government of West Bengal and the Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA).
 
"The township in Asansol will be unique and the first of its kind being set up in India in collaboration with the Singapore government linked SembCorp," said Hemant Kanoria, director of Bengal Shristi.
 
The master plan was presented formally by Bengal Shristi as the implementing agency along with SembCorp Infrastructure, a Singpore government-linked company. The township will be the maiden venture of Singapore government linked SembCorp in West Bengal.
 
Shristi Infrastructure Development has been selected as partner by SembCorp, one of the leading architects & structural consultants of Singapore, and other Singapore companies for jointly developing projects in West Bengal.
 
The integrated township envisages creation of housing for more than 7,000 families in a mixture of plotted land, houses and group housing structures. SembCorp would do the master planning, detailed design, engineering and project management consultancy.
 
Besides housing, the township would offer all types of commercial formats, like a shopping complex, multiplex, entertainment complex and institutional areas.
 
The township would have a green space with parks, ponds and river. A 5-acre club would be part of the township Bengal Shristi, an infrastructure development company, has been promoted jointly by ADDA and Shristi Infrastructure Development under the state government model for public private partnerships.
 
The company was currently building the Durgapur City Centre, a multi-facility urban plaza, spread over 3,70,000 square feet offering shopping, commerce, entertainment, recreation, hospitality and residential apartments along with cineplex and amphitheatre.
