Siemens has reported an 89% increase in net profit at Rs 79.37 crore for the second quarter ended March 31, 2005 as against Rs 42 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2004.According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 744.61 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 498.24 crore in Q2FY04.The board has declared an interim dividend of 45% (i.e. Rs 4.50 per share) on equity shares of Rs 10 each. The board also approved a proposal for the amalgamation of the Mumbai-based Demag Delaval Industrial Turbomachinery (DDITL) with the company."DDITL is a 100% subsidiary of the company, and is engaged in the business of design, manufacture and marketing of industrial turbines," the release said.
