Singareni earns Rs 553.80 crore gross profit

Gross sales turnover during the year witnessed an increase of 7.2 per cent with total coal production touching at 35.30 million tonnes as compared to 33.85 million tonnes in 2003-04.

Sales realisation also increased by 7.45 per cent at Rs 3,460 crore during the last fiscal, according to an official press release.

SCCL during 2004-05, in the highest ever contribution to the state exchequer, has paid Rs 465.47 crore towards royalty and sales tax (Rs 315 crore and Rs 150.47 crore respectively) as compared to Rs 444.71 crore during the year 2003-04.

The company's increase in production is mainly attributed to the open cast operations, which contributed 22.33 million tonnes to the total coal production in Singareni coalfields as compared to 20.54 million during 2003-04.

The total dispatches have gone up to 34.71 million tonnes in 2004-05 from 33.83 million tonnes in previous year.
