Growth in domestic business helped plastics and textiles manufacturer Sintex Industries post a net profit of Rs70.8 crore for the quarter ended December 2008, with 21 per cent growth over the Rs58.5 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter, last year.
Consolidated net income for the period has increased by 33 per cent to Rs820.2 crore from Rs615.3 crore.
"Our domestic business has shown good growth rates despite signs of a slowdown in the domestic economy," said Amit Patel, managing director, Sintex Industries.
Building materials and custom moulded business helped 39 per cent growth during the quarter to earn revenues of Rs725.4crore, said a press release.
