With electronic media emerging as the most popular among all the media, there is a growing need for announcers and programme conductors, who can effectively communicate with the electronic media viewers and listeners. But there is a dearth for such effective communicators.

The shortage of skill is affecting both the TV and radio broadcasting and new channel promoters.

Realising the need for such effective communication, the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, is conducting a national level workshop on the 'use of effective voice and speech' from October 17 for three days.

The programme is organised for the announcers of the All India Radio, in association with the Regional Training Institute of Trivandrum. Around 25 radio announcers will participate.
