Amid expectation of doubling the car sales in India next year, Czech firm SkodaAuto today said that it will expand its presence in India by increasing its boutique outlets to 20 from present seven.
The company has a target to increase the count of its boutique outlets to 20 by end of 2011, from the existing seven to provide better brand experience to its customers.
SkodaAuto India plans to open more outlets in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai.
"We are looking to sell nearly 20,000 units by this year end and expecting the sales to double next year. In line to our expansion plans, we are targeting to have 20 boutique outlets by end of 2011," SkodaAuto India General Manager Sales and Marketing Ashutosh Dixit said.
The company, currently operating with network of 66 dealers and seven boutique showrooms, aims to have a network of 80 touch points by this year-end in India.
"As part of our expansion plans we are coming up in cities like Mysore, Meerut and Patna. We are also expanding our existing facilities or opening new outlets in metropolitans," Dixit said.
The company closed with sales of 14,500 units in 2009. It has sold 16,200 units by October end this year.
