SkodaAuto India, a part of the Volkswagen group, today said that it would be ready to launch the Skoda Octavia-II by September next year and that the existing model of the Octavia would continue alongside the new model.

Skoda also launched for the first time in India its pre-owned cars initiative, Skoda Signature. Imran Hassen, managing director of SkodaAuto India, said the company would also be ready to launch the Fabia sedan in a couple of months, ahead of the Octavia II.

"We expect to sell the same numbers of the Fabia as we do of the Octavia," he said. The Octavia II is totally different than the current version and will be built on a different platform.
