Slew of Canon launches for Rs800cr top lineBS Reporter / New Delhi November 20, 2007Digital imaging company Canon India, today launched 35 new consumer digital imaging products. The initiative is expected to see the company touch revenue of Rs 800 crore by 2008.The company also earmarked Rs 70 crore towards marketing of products. The new campaigns will strengthen the Canon brand by using Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador. The company will also introduce marketing campaigns customised for specific regions.Canon India vice-president Alok Bharadwaj said: "Our focus on retail is definitely increasing as we are planning to open six exclusive showrooms by June next year for end-consumers and three outlets for business equipment, which will go up to 20 in next two years to help in building the brand."Currently, the company has 1,200 points of sale for its digital cameras and 2,500 for the printers.
