Domestic e-commerce company Snapdeal on Thursday said that it had shipped nearly five million orders before Diwali, which will be celebrated next month
"During this Diwali Sale despite a multi fold increase in order volumes, Snapdeal has set new benchmarks with 98.9 percent orders dispatched within 24 hours of order placement and it has achieved 98.6 percent on-time delivery of the sales orders," the company said in a release. The company also said that there were nearly five million app downloads on the first day of the Diwali sale.
"Many million users try e-commerce for the first time during the festive season and we are delighted to give them a fantastic first experience on our marketplace. Over the last year, all our teams have worked single-mindedly to deliver world class customer experience this Diwali," said Snapdeal's chief customer experience officer Jayant Sood.
"We have significantly ramped up our supply chain and technology capabilities which are now translating to superior customer value proposition. The sheer volume of positive feedback on social media is a great validation of our efforts," he added. In addition, Snapdeal said that it has seen a 350 percent increase in first time customers on its platforms.
"Over 70,000 units of large size products like furniture, beds, TVs, sofas have been shipped in just three days. The electronics sale has seen the highest demand for mobile phone with Rs.500 crore worth of phones sold on Snapdeal that day," it said.
"In view of the continuing strong demand Rs.200 crore worth phones are available today. In addition to the tier 1 & 2 cities the on-time deliveries also extend to customers in traditionally underserviced areas like Aizawl, Agartala, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Cooch Behar, Malda, Anantnag and Tuticorin," it added.
