Sobha completes phase I of Dell facility

Sobha Developers, a Bangalore-based real estate developer, has completed the phase I construction of Dell's manufacturing facility at Sriperumbadur in Tamil Nadu.
 
According to Lt Gen Mathew Mammem, executive director, Sobha Developers, "The phase I construction for Dell constituted an office block of 40,000 sft, a computer manufacturing plant of 60,000 sft and other service buildings. The total infrastructure works for the 50-acre campus of Dell was also completed by the company."
 
Dell has planned a five-year investment of $30 million (about Rs 120 crore) and expects an initial capacity in Chennai to be four lakh desktop computers per annum.
 
Last year, Sobha bagged the Rs 22.71 crore construction order from Dell to build a manufacturing unit and an office block of 1 lakh sq ft.
 
Sobha Developers, through the contractual project management division, has undertaken the other projects for companies like Infosys, HP, Timken, Taj and RMZ Corporation.
