In a bid to boost its on-site integrated services in Gujarat, Sodexo India is planning to set up a distribution centre in the state in next couple of years. The centre will smoothen the company's operations that include offering on-site catering services, apart from housekeeping, project management, waste management and preventative/corrective maintenance.
Moreover, the centre will result in Gujarat's contribution to Sodexo India's overall revenue to increase by 50 per cent. "We have been witnessing wastage of food products in transit. Moreover, it takes time to serve our clients in Gujarat with a distribution centre outside the state. The upcoming centre within the state will not only reduce wastage but also increase the state's revenue contribution to Sodexo India from six per cent to nine per cent," said Jeff Brades, vice president, marketing and communication, Sodexo India. The centre will be equipped with warehousing facilities as well as cold storage, apart from testing laboratories. According to Brades, the centre will reduce food wastage from current 15 per cent to less than 10 per cent in next couple of years.
Currently, it earns a revenue of Rs 900 crore in India which it expects to grow by 15 per cent CAGR. In Gujarat, major clients of Sodexo India include AMW and Tata Motor.
