Somany signs deal with Turkish tiles firm

Somany Tiles, a Delhi-based manufacturer of floor tiles, has entered into a partnership with Kaleseramik, Turkey's leading tiles manufacturer, to market its products in India.

"The exclusive range from the Kaleseramik bouquet would ensure the availability of world-class products, at competitive prices for the Indian customer," a Somany release said.

The range of tiles, slated to be introduced in the Indian market, include vitrified tiles, wall-and-floor tiles and other offerings from Kaleseramik, the release added.

The partnership would also aim at leveraging each other's production facility, to service the global market, the release said.

Somany Tiles is a leading manufacturer of quality tiles, with an annual turnover of $ 50 million. The firm has two manufacturing plants at Kassar in Haryana and Kadi in Gujarat.

The company had received the ISO 14001 certification, for its environment-friendly manufacturing facilities.

Kaleseramik, the world's largest manufacturer of ceramic and vitrified tiles is the flagship company of the Kale group of Turkey.

The group has interests in sanitaryware, complete bath and kitchen solutions, adhesive, grouts, technical ceramics, high precision parts for defence and aerospace, and machinery for construction activity, transport, logistics and insurance.

The firm also has 27 state-of-the-art plants, with a turnover of about $ 750 million and supplies its products in 60 countries worldwide.
