Sony India today said its colour television (CTV) sales jumped 64 per cent in the first six months of 2004. It added that its marketshare went up to 10 per cent by the end of July. The company plans to double its turnover by 2006. It is expecting sales of 400,000 CTVs by the end of the year and a top line growth of over 50 per cent.

"We are on track to achieve sales of Rs 1,200 crore. CTVs and digital imaging products like handycams will be the key growth drivers," Mohit Parasher, general manager, Sony India, said at a press conference here today. Although CTVs still account for more than 50 per cent of the company's turnover, Sony said digital cameras were growing at 300 per cent.
