Spanco bags Rs 160 cr order for from Bihar IT infra

IT services firm Spanco today said it had received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Bihar government to implement IT infrastructure for the state's electricity board with an order value of Rs 160 crore.

The project has been awarded under the Re-structured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Program (R-APDRP).

"Our company has received an LoI in respect of the APDRP project from Bihar State Elelctricity Board, appointing us as IT implementation agency," Spanco said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The order value amounts to Rs 160 crore, it added.

The R-APDRP is a flagship programme of the government with a total outlay of Rs 51,577 crore.

Under the programme, IT companies would help power utilities from 'concept to commissioning' to facilitate reduction of aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses through strengthening and upgradation of the transmission and distribution network.
