Taking advantage of the festive season which is just around the corner, corporates are already in a rush to woo consumers with various offers to prop up sales.

One can become a millionaire, or a owner of a snazzy car if you happen to make the right purchases at the right place and at the right time.

However, even if one is not so lucky, one can still walk away with a whole load of freebies thrown in as add-ons on purchase of several items, for example, buy two Vivaldi shirts and get one shirt free or buy a Pierre Cardin watch and get a 18k golds chain free.

Companies have also slashed prices to rake in volumes. Beverage giant Pepsi has reduced the price of its 1.5 litre Pepsi bottle to Rs 38 from Rs 45 and the 2 litre pack now costs Rs 43 (Rs 50).

However, unlike the fast moving consumer goods industry which is facing a slowdown, the consumer electronics sector has been witnessing growth and is using a different strategy to push sales.
