The S-300 phone, launched in Bangalore on Tuesday by Spice Telecom chief executive officer Navin Kaul and chief operating officer Rakesh Singh, comes with a Kannada audio interface system and push applications for value-added services (VAS) -- which will be of help to farmers to retrieve commodity prices of vegetables, pulses, beverages, cereals and others.
The phone comes with a three-year warranty, with outgoing calls to any local number at Re 1. Claiming to be the first in the GSM space to offer a phone at Rs 599, Rakesh Singh said that through this offer, his company is addressing a customer base constituting 75 per cent of Karnataka's population.
