A day after private carrier Jet Airways lowered fares on select routes during the monsoon season, low-cost carrier SpiceJet introduced reduced ticket prices during the July 15-September 15 period.

SpiceJet is offering tickets starting from Rs 1,500 for limited seats across its network. The ticket prices are inclusive of fuel surcharge but do not include passenger service fee and applicable airport charges, the carrier said in a statement.

The ticket booking period, which started today, will last at least for a week, the airline said.

The no-frills airline flies to 18 cities, including Coimbatore, Jaipur, Jammu and Bagdogra apart from the metros.

Jet Airways, together with its subsidiary JetLite and no-frills service brand 'Konnect', yesterday announced its 'Monsoon Magic' offer of lower fares on select routes for the lean travel season.
