The new flight would be operated six times a week with a Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, SpiceJet said today.
The services on the new route will commence from December 10 and this will be SpiceJet's second direct international flight from Chennai, it said.
Commenting on the new air service, SpiceJet's senior vice president and head of Sales and Marketing, Shilpa Bhatia said, "Our first Bangkok flight started from Kolkata last year and gives us immense pleasure, to announce our second international flight to Bangkok."
SpiceJet believes that there is a tremendous potential in the southern markets too and this flight will help the airline to connect passengers form rest of India to Bangkok via Chennai, she said.
The airline would be operating to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport from Chennai, from where numerous onward domestic and international connections are available.
The Gurgaon-based budget carrier operates 291 daily flights to 40 destinations, including 34 domestic and six international.
