Wadhawan Food Retail promoted 'Spinach', which runs food shopping stores in the city, plans to expand its business in other parts of the country.The company has charted out an investment plan of Rs 1,500 crore to reach a total of 1,500 stores by 2011 across the country."We will reach 1,500 food shopping stores by 2011 at an investment of Rs 1,200-Rs 1,500 crore," Dipankar Halder, CEO, Spinach told PTI.The company, established in March 2006, currently has 23 food stores in the city. Each store has an average area of 2,500 sq ft.In the current fiscal, Spinach will add 250 stores in Delhi, Kolkata and Maharashtra. "Starting with our 2011 target, we are aiming to set up 250 food stores in this fiscal," he said.Each store is at an investment of about Rs 70 lakh each, he said.
