Food and grocery retail chain Spinach is planning to open six new outlets in the next six or eight months and a hypermarket within a year in Nashik city. Mumbai-based Wadhawan Food Retail (WFRL), which runs Spinach brand of outlets, has already opened two stores in Nashik city. These two retail stores are located at Gangapur Road and Trimurti Chowk areas of the city.
“As part of our expansion plans, we are launching our brand chain of retail outlets- ‘Spinach’ in the city. We have already opened 2 stores in the city and planning another 6 new stores in the next six or eight months,” the company offical told Business Standard, but avoided to divulge details regarding its investment in the outlets.
“We are in the process of identifying properties in prime locations of the city. Our each retail outlet will cover the carpet area ranging from 1,500 sqft to 3,000 sq ft. We have identified one property in Govindnagar area of the city and will open our third store there by the next month. Besides, we have also plans to open a hypermarket in prime location of the city. This hypermarket will cover the carpet area of 15,000 to 25,000 sq ft, depending on the availability of land/property. We expect to open this hypermarket by the end of the next calendar year (2009),” he added.
