With an aim to expand its network across the country, Speciality Restaurants Pvt Ltd (SRPL), the major chain of Chinese, Indian and other food restaurants, is planning to open 60 new restaurants in major cities across the country by mid 2011, at a total investment of around Rs. 200 crore.
“We are planning to increase our chain of restaurants from present 40 restaurants to 100 restaurants in major cities across the country by mid 2011. In the first phase, we will open 30 restaurants by December 2010, while rest of the 30 restaurants will be opened by mid 2011. The investment for opening these 60 new restaurants is estimated at around Rs. 200 crore,” the senior company official, who did not want to be identified, told Business Standard.
“Out of 60 proposed restaurants, 15 restaurants will be opened in Mumbai, 4 in Pune, two in Delhi and one each in Nagpur, Baroda and Ahmedabad. As we reach the number of our restaurants to 100 by mid 2011, we expect the business turn over of Rs. 300-400 crore by that time,” he added.
