The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) will be organising SmashUp, a competition with an instant funding opportunity for startups, in Hyderabad from February 27

Designed to enable the startups to learn the art of building successful ventures from mentors and successful entrepreneurs, SmashUp will provide 10 shortlisted startups, from both technical and non-technical sectors, to pitch to the angel investors for Rs 20 lakh each in exchange of 10 per cent equity.

Investment firms, including Unitus Seed Fund, 50K Ventures, Anthill Ventures, Saha Fund, Indian Angel Network, Hyderabad Angels, besides individual  investors and angels, will participate in the funding event.

“We are targeting early-stage registered (private limited company) startups in any space. The participating startups will be mentored in a boot camp by successful entrepreneurs,” Suresh Challa, president of TiE-Hyderabad, said in a release on Wednesday
