FM radio may not be able to keep its date with music buffs in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, thanks to delays in installation of radio transmission equipment in these cities. Both BECIL (Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd) and private FM radio companies admit that the FM radio launch may be delayed by one or two weeks missing the March 31 deadline.
Officials at BECIL, working as the integrator for the FM companies and installing antennae and cable to facilitate the FM launch, admit that the work at all the three sites in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, may take some extra time to complete.
